Introducing our first piece of garment into our collection, the Kimono jacket, which is the perfect travel piece that you can bring with you around the world. The kimono comes in two sizes and its fit all jacket that you can dress up or down for any occasions. These kimonos are made with Bogolan material from Mali and traditional Morrocan embroidery to celebrate the different cultures of Africa. They all come with the matching tassel belt. Bogolan is handmade with mud-cloth pieces, which are made of handwoven cotton, grown in the villages of Africa, woven into long strips, sewn into one piece, then stencilled with fermented mud and plants and finished off with a great tribal design.Traditionally bogolan was made only by women, who learned techniques and patterns from their mothers and other older female relatives. In the Malian culture, bogolan was worn by hunters, served as camouflage, ritual protection, badge of status and women initiation to adulthood. It is now used widely in fashion in Mali and internationally. The material is fairly sturdy, hand painted and the material is a thick woven cotton. It’s supposed to be a kimono which can be worn fitted or loose and in most seasons as it can be worn as outerwear over a sweater or just a light top.
